  • What equipment do I need to do Pilates At Home?
    All you need is a mat, a towel and some water.
  • What sort of space do I need for the session?
    You only need enough space for a standard exercise mat, or 2 mats if booking a 1:2 person session.
  • Do I need to have any previous experience of Pilates?
    No experience required! I will teach you the basic principles and then we will gradually build on these during your sessions.
  • Do I have to be physically fit to do Pilates? What if I haven't exercised for a long time?
    Pilates is a Mind & Body form of exercise that can be performed at different levels. At Home Pilates is suitable for people of all fitness levels and will be adapted to suit each individual.
  • What do I need to wear?
    Comfortable clothing that allows movement!
  • Are there age limits to Pilates mat work sessions?
    There are no age limits to Pilates, it's suitable for all ages, young and old!
  • Can I do Pilates if I am pregnant?
    Yes absolutely! The Pilates exercises can be adapted to allow you to exercise safely throughout your pregnancy. The benefits are huge too, see Services & Pricing - Ante Natal Pilates for more info!
  • Can I do Pilates if I have recently had a baby?
    Yes, as long as you are fit and well post-pregnancy and you've had your 6 week check by your Doctor or Midwife. An At Home Post-Natal Pilates Programme has many benefits for you, please see 'Services & Pricing' - 'Post-Natal Pilates' for more info!
  • Can I do Pilates if I am injured?
    Yes, as long as your Doctor is happy for you to exercise. Your programme will be designed to suit you and any specific injuries you have. Pilates is fantastic for rehabilitation!
  • I already have knowledge of Pilates and I'm physically fit; will At Home Pilates help me?
    Yes, definitely. I can devise a programme to suit your fitness level, I'll gradually increase the level and intensity of the exercises to build and improve on your strength and flexibility.
  • Can I do Pilates in between the booked sessions?
    Yes, I will give you a few exercises to focus on after each session. You can then practice, increase your confidence and build your strength. I am always happy to answer any queries regarding the exercises, between booked sessions.
  • Are you flexible with the time of the booking of sessions?
    I always try and manage my time to suit my clients needs. Just contact me and we'll work together to arrange times that suit.
  • I live outside St Albans/Harpenden, can I still book sessions?"
    This all depends on the distance I'll need to travel to get to you. I'll assess this on an individual basis, please contact me to discuss.
